August 20 - Medical

Virtual Hospital: Multimedia Textbooks

This series covers a variety of topics for physicians, many highly specialized, but you never know when just that topic may be the one to be translated. My personal favorites: The Human Brain (I get a kick out of pressing Enter to step into someone's brain;-), and the Illustrated Encyclopedia of Human Anatomic Variation, with its lists of muscles and a useful glossary as well. Surely much more to be harvested here.

August 20 - Useless

Useless Pages

"'Useless' in this context doesn't mean poorly done or of no value at all, it just means that there isn't any point in making these things available on the web. [Note -- we've expanded the meaning of "useless" quite a bit since then, it's more of a Zen thing now: if we have to explain, you'll never get it.] If you see a page and think "Good God, WHO CARES?" you have found a likely submission." I couldn't have said it better.
